Early Season Awards - Most Improved Player

Yo...I'm back! It's been a minute but I'm just gonna' jump right into it. I'm firing the blog back up hoop fans, and my first order of business is early season awards. We're a little over a month into the 66-game lockout season and we've seen a lot already. Not only has Kobe beaten the "Boston Big Three" to the fountain of youth but homie looks like he's been sipping from the same fountain as Yoda from Star Wars...4 straight 40 point games? Stop it Kobe...just stop. Amongst other things the Thunder are a serious favorite in the West, and the Flip Saunders era is finally over in Washington. With many more stories on the hoops horizon, I begin my return to the blog world with my early season award for Most Improved Player. And the winner is...Darko Milicic -_______- .....Ha! No...but the winner is Kyle Lowry. Dude has improved his game since entering the league after being part of that 4 headed monster at Villanova. Lowry was always a tough PG with a high motor, got after you on defense and attacked the rim, but he could never knock down the jumper with consistency. Well, that has all changed. Ever since Lowry was propelled into being the Rockets full time floor general last season due to an Aaron Brooks injury, he has showcased the dimensions he's added to his game and become one of the best all around PG's in the league. So far this season Lowry is averaging 17 and 9; he's fresh off a triple double against the Wolves and earlier this season Lowry lit the Blazers up for 33 and flirted with a triple double as he was 1 assist and 1 rebound away. K-Low also has the Rockets fighting for playoff contention as they currently sit in the 8th spot. And with Deron Williams now playing in the East with the Nets, Lowry has a solid chance of being an All-Star in the West behind CP3 and Russell Westbrook.
